Overview:
Federal Engineering Delivery has an immediate need for skilled and energetic Logistics Specialist.
Clearance:
Active Top Secret Clearance is not required at time of application.
Description:
Candidate is responsible for reviewing the current system architecture, sustainment of current operations, design of a new cloud-based architecture, development and deployment of new capabilities, and continual system refresh and enhancement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Responsible for purchasing highly complex or unusual, technical, or high value materials, supplies, or services.
- Leads aspects of strategic sourcing, which may include, Statement of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation, proposal evaluation, price/cost analysis, contract negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
- Tracks the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders. Selects, and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, quality, and service. Follows up on all awards until completion of order. Prepares purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders. Oversees and/or conducts supplier site visits as necessary.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- Five years experience in planning, executing, and tracking budgets
- Demonstrated expertise in gathering financial information and manipulating spreadsheets to analyze and present data appropriately for financial decision makers
- Demonstrated expertise in working with financial systems for processing and tracking daily budget actions
